Education and Experience

B.S. in General Engineering, B.S. in Liberal Arts & Sciences, and M.S. in Theoretical & Applied Mechanics, University of Illinois; Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, The Ohio State University.  Carl is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and Alaska.

Carl worked 23 years at Battelle in Columbus, Ohio, before joining DNV Columbus (formerly CC Technologies) where he has worked since 1990.  He has lead testing and research projects in the areas of materials behavior.  The topics that he has investigated include fatigue, creep, fracture, and corrosion.  His current work includes failure analysis, fitness-for-service and remaining life assessment of engineering components.  He is also active in developing special-purpose engineering software, such as pcTUBETM and CorLASTM.

Personal

Carl's wife, Donna Jaske, writes and teaches English as a second language.  They have two daughters, Kat and Karen. Kat's novels - For Honor: An Adventure of What Might Have Been, Gambit: For Love of a Queen, and Righting Time have gotten rave reviews. Are you worthy? Karen is returning to school to study nursing. Donna teaches English as a Second Language (ESL), as well as editing and promoting Kat's novels. Carl's hobbies include hiking, biking, running, and computers.
